Hey there! I’m Noella!
I know that I am completely awful about keeping up with my blog, so things need to change. I know that there is an “about me” section on my website that gives you a quick glimps of my and what I’m about but I would like to get a little deeper about who I am and what my life is like.
Like I've said before, if you are following me you might be over whelmed with how much I share of my girls. I mean come on though, aren't they some of the cutest beings you've ever seen?! I have a soft spot for mocha babies because of it…….who am I kidding?! All babies make me a little gooshy. the best part of working with Kids and babies is like being a grand parent, you get to give them back after you sugar them up haha. Hey at least your photos will look awesome at the end!
I really wanted to tell you about my career and what I have for creditcials in this field.
I started my photography career in high school. I was so overwhelmed with emotions as any teenager is, but I went through so much as a kid that I couldn't express it in words. I tried to find an out lit for how I felt , and something's seemed a little scary at times. I found that a our brand new high school that a large dark room was avaliable. I thought maybe it would be fun to get out of doing the normal classroom book work. The first day in class I was hooked. I always had thought taking photos was fun, but this was a whole another level of comfort for me. Every project I shot more and spent more time in the dark room. I could see this was something I wanted to continue in my life.
I decided to go to college for Art, and concentrate on photography at the University of Maine at Augusta. I would shoot a lot about my own life, self portraits and things around me that made me who I was. My First focus is college was Sports photography. I spend alot of time shooting the athletics department at UMA, and was able to acquire volunteer hours to pay for some of my schooling. It was a great focus but after having our first daughter in my Junior year, I turned my focus. I then did my Senior thesis on Birth photography, and the rawness of it all. I followed 3 mothers through their journey to birthing their babies, and it was mind blowing that I had just done that myself.
At first I really couldn’t see myself working in the wedding industry but after my first wedding in 2014, I knew that my calling was the human connection. And after getting married in 2015 it really put perspective on how important the work I was doing was.
The best part of my job, is the message that I get after a client gets their gallery after their session. Its what makes me keep doing this everyday and moving toward supporting my family full time. It keeps me pushing myself to make incrediable work.
If you are looking for a badass photographer who is always willing to do crazy things like this^^^^, someone who is not just about getting to know their clients but to really become apart of their moment. When a client tells me and I quote “it was like we had been friends all along and all my guest thought we had been friends for years!” means that I have done my job of comfort and delivery. Let me know what crazy ideas you have, and lets do it!
xoxo
